The PSL has crowned the first set of Monthly Award winners for the second half of the 2025/26 season, with Miguel Cardoso, Relebohile Mofokeng, and Glody Lilepo walking away with the top honours.
Recognising performances across the January–February period, the winners were decided by a panel of independent journalists and broadcasters, including FARPost‘s own Mthokozisi Dube.
Mamelodi Sundowns tactician Miguel Cardoso bagged the Coach of the Month award after a flawless run that saw the Brazilians secure four wins from four matches. The highlight of Cardoso’s period was a high-stakes away victory over fellow title rivals Orlando Pirates in February, a result that bolstered Sundowns’ pursuit of a ninth successive league crown.
Cardoso faced stiff competition for the accolade, edging out Pirates’ head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou and Gavin Hunt, who has recently stabilised Stellenbosch FC.
SIX GOAL INVOLVEMENTS: RELE MOFOKENG CROWNED PLAYER OF THE MONTH
In the player category, the sensational Relebohile Mofokeng was the standout choice. The Pirates attacker has been in scintillating form since reclaiming his spot in the starting line-up.
Across six matches in the judging period, Mofokeng recorded three goals and three assists. He won three consecutive Man of the Match awards to help keep Pirates firmly in the title race.
While Kaizer Chiefs have endured a difficult run lately, forward Glody Lilepo provided a moment of magic for Amakhosi. His ‘wonder-strike’ against Marumo Gallants at the Dr Molemela Stadium in January was voted the best of the bunch, earning him the Goal of the Month trophy.
The race for individual honours has been a rollercoaster this season. In August 2025, Puso Dithejane [TS Galaxy], Eric Tinkler [Sekhukhune], and Kamogelo Sebelebele [Pirates] set the pace.
The September-October period was dominated by Golden Arrows’ Siyanda Ndlovu. The Arrows star scooped both the Player and Goal of the Month awards. Pirates’ Abdeslam Ouaddou took his first coaching accolade. Ouaddou followed that up by retaining the Coach of the Month title for November-December. He won alongside Player of the Month Puso Dithejane and goal-scorer Camren Dansin.
