Kruger United have taken pole position in the Motsepe Foundation Championship title race after playing to a 1-1 draw against Leicesterford City FC on Saturday, while Black Leopards extended their winless streak to 10 games.
The Mpumalanga-based side clashed with Leicesterford at Dobsonville Stadium, aiming for positive results to continue their chase for promotion to the Betway Premiership.
Kruger shared the spoils with Leicesterford City, which was enough to move them to the summit of the league table with 37 points in 20 matches. They won 10 league games, drew seven, and suffered defeats only three times.
Meanwhile, United are holding an impressive record of the highest number of goals in the Motsepe Foundation with 31 goals, proving their effectiveness in the final third.
Kruger lipfrogged Milford FC at the top of the log in the second division as the KZN-based outfit was involved in the Nedbank Cup action this weekend.

Leopards are sitting at the bottom of the Championship table with only 13 points in 19 games after registering only two wins, seven draws, and 10 defeats. The Limpopo-based side will be looking to turn their fortunes in the last 11 matches of the season to retain their status in the second-tier.
