Simba SC have moved swiftly to secure the future of former Bafana Bafana international Rushine De Reuck, with the defender putting pen to paper on a new contract.
De Reuck has extended his stay at the Tanzanian giants for another year. The highly-rated defenderย joined Simba at the beginning of the season after a season-long loan with Israelโs Maccabi Petah Tikva from Mamelodi Sundowns.
He seamlessly transitioned into the fold, already notching three goals and two Man of the Match accolades this campaign.
In a short statement on the club’s social media platforms on Sunday, the club confirmed that De Reuck had agreed to a new deal.

RUSHINE DE REUCK EXPRESSES DELIGHT OVER CAPTAINCY ROLE
The former Maritzburg United player says he knew that at some point, he had to be a leader in the team because of his experience.
โItโs a good feeling, obviously. Coming here, I didn’t have any expectations of becoming a team captain,โ he told the media.
โI know that, considering my age, I am a little bit older than most of the players here. So I knew that I was going to take a leadership role. I am willing to do that gladly, and I am obviously a little bit more experienced than most of the guys. So I needed to do that.
โCoach Fadlu [Davids] brought me here, and he made me aware of that. So I was ready for that. So now that I am captain, obviously, itโs a different responsibility.
โBut itโs such a privilege for me to come to a team like Simba and captain them. Itโs not only me, but there are a lot of captains in the team, so you donโt need to have an armband to feel like a captain.โ
