Chaos erupted in the SAFA Limpopo ABC Motsepe League on Friday afternoon as the clash between Ngwaabe City Motors and Eleven Fast Tigers was abandoned.
The match, held at the Jane Furse Artificial Stadium, was marred by a controversial penalty decision awarded to the home side [Ngwaabe City Motors].
Tensions were high when the referee pointed to the spot in favour of Ngwaabe City Motors. However, the decision did not sit well with the visitors [Eleven Fast Tigers] players and technical team, who then opted to leave the pitch in protest, leading to the match being called off.
As first reported by Polokwane Adventures, Eleven Fast Tigers felt hard done throughout the match, claiming they were denied two clear penalties, while the hosts were awarded a dubious one.
The matter is currently under review and resolution by SAFA Limpopo in accordance with the league’s regulations.
