The race for the SAFA Gauteng ABC Motsepe League title has intensified after a weekend full of action that saw the gap at the top of the table narrow to just two points between Free Agents FC and Tembisa Hollywood Thunder.
Tembisa Hollywood Thunder made the most of their home-ground advantage on Saturday, securing a hard-fought 2-1 victory over RRR Rams at the Mehlareng Stadium in Tembisa. The result keeps their title ambitions firmly on track as the season is close to the end.
Log leaders Free Agents FC failed to extend their lead even further after being held to a 1-1 draw by La Masia on Friday. The clash, which took place at Eersterust Stadium in Pretoria, saw Free Agents drop two crucial points in their quest for the title honours.
As it stands, Free Agents are still top of the table with 47 points, just two points ahead of the second-placed Tembisa Hollywood Thunder. Both teams have played 25 games.
