Mamelodi Sundowns legend Peter Ndlovu has made a fascinating revelation after returning to Zimbabwe to take on a team manager role. Ndlovu, a former Warriors skipper, joined Scottland FC as team manager in January, working alongside head coach Norman Mapeza, another ex-Zimbabwe captain.
His experience goes beyond Sundowns, as he also played for Thanda Royal Zulu FC from 2008 to 2010. He was part of the Masandawana squad from 2004 to 2008, a four-year spell that contributed to his impressive football career.
And he returned to serve as the team manager at Sundowns for over a decade, starting from July 2013 up to 2025. At Scottland FC, he brings a wealth of experience, having worked with top coaches like Pitso Mosimane. He also worked with Rulani Mokwena at Mamelodi Sundowns.
In Zimbabwe, Ndlovu played for Highlanders FC and left in 1991 for England, where he played for Coventry City and Birmingham City. In addition, he also played for Huddersfield Town and Sheffield United.
Ndlovu has set his sights on the 2026/27 CAF Champions League with Scottland FC, which won its first League title in 2025. Fans are thrilled to have him on board, and many hope he’ll bring his expertise to the Warriors soon.
Interestingly, the 53-year-old has been impressed by the level of development and how football has evolved in Zimbabwe.
WHAT THE SUNDOWNS LEGEND PETER NDLOVU SAID

Recently, Ndlovu’s Scottland FC played the opening match of the 2026 season against newly promoted Hardrock FC at Chahwanda Stadium. And he was struck by nostalgia at the new stadium, sparking a desire to lace up his boots again.
“Seeing the young guns develop, the infrastructure growing, and the passion for the game here. It brought back the fire in me, but I am in a different role now,” Ndlovu said, visibly moved by what he witnessed as Hardrock FC drew 0-0 with Scottland FC.
“I felt like putting on my boots again, even for a kickabout. The love for football here is infectious.”
Ndlovu praised the progress at Chahwanda, citing it as a prime example of Zimbabwe’s football potential.
“The facilities are improving, and the players are hungry to grow and be successful. It’s inspiring to see,” he added. Football enthusiasts are buzzing at the prospect of seeing Ndlovu contribute to the game, even if not as a player.
