Polokwane City FC have been found guilty by the PSL for fielding two ineligible players against Orlando Pirates in their DStv Diski Challenge [DDC] fixture in October 2025.
Therefore, the match was awarded to the Buccaneers with a 3-0 win scoreline. The showdown initially ended in a 2-1 victory in favour of the Rise and Shine. This match was part of the DDC festival that was played at Baroka Village [Mafori Stadium].
As a result, the Soweto giants lead the DDC table with 54 points—just three points ahead of the second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns. However, Pirates still holds a game in hand over their Chloorkop rivals.
Currently, Pirates also hold a superior goal difference of +36 compared to Sundowns’ +31. This five-goal cushion could prove decisive in the title race should the two giants finish level on points.
Meanwhile, following a three-point deduction, PLK City find themselves languishing in 15th place on the DDC log standings, with 19 points collected after 23 matches.
HOW ORLANDO PIRATES PLAYED OVER THE WEEKEND
Pirates’ dominant 5-0 win over Siwelele FC at the UJ Soweto Campus this past Saturday has effectively turned the title race into a two-horse race between the Sea Robbers and Bafana Ba Style.
Pirates returned to winning ways after a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Golden Arrows the previous week at UJ Soweto Campus in front of the first team’s head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou.

On the other hand, Masandawana humiliated Orbit College FC with a 6-1 scoreline at Olympia Park Stadium in Rustenburg on Sunday to keep their DDC title triumph hopes alive.
