Nkowankowa Continental have finally tasted victory in the SAFA Limpopo ABC Motsepe League, ending a 15-match winless streak over the weekend.
They secured their first three points of the season with a 2-0 win over Vondwe XI Bullets at the Makonde Stadium in Thohoyandou on Saturday afternoon.
Heading into the matchday 16 encounter, the odds were against the Nkowankowa-based side. Having failed to register a win in their previous 15 outings, the pressure was mounting. However, a good performance away from home ensured they broke their duck in Stream A.
While the victory provides some confidence boost, the side still has a mammoth task ahead to survive relegation. As things stand, Nkowankowa Continental are languishing at the bottom of the log [12th place], having collected just seven points from a possible 48.
They have now closed the gap on 11th-placed Lebash Academy to just three points.
