AmaZulu FC confirm the exit of two key technical team members

AmaZulu FC technical members

AmaZulu FC have confirmed the exit of two technical team members, Simo Dladla and Pedro Diaz, who will leave the club at the end of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season.

Dladla served as the assistant coach to head coach Arthur Zwane, while Dias has been heading operations for all sporting activities as Usuthu’s director of football.

It appears AmaZulu have commenced implementing adjustments to their squad as they seek to construct a formidable squad capable of challenging elite rivals for silverware in the future. Usuthu have maintained an impressive vein of form within the league, and they presently occupy third position on the log standings with 37 points from 22 matches.

The KZN-based outfit is determined to conclude the campaign within the top three to secure qualification for the CAF inter-club competition next season. Thus far this term, AmaZulu have secured 11 league victories, recorded four draws, and endured seven defeats under the tutelage of former Kaizer Chiefs tactician Zwane.

AmaZulua announced the departures of Dladla and Dias on Friday. The duo shall vacate their respective roles at the conclusion of the current campaign, as the club evidently adopts a fresh strategic direction.

โ€œAmaZulu Football Club confirms that director of football, Mr Pedro Dias, and assistant coach, Mr Simo Dladla, will depart from the club at the conclusion of the current season following the decision not to extend their respective contracts,โ€ the club said in a statement.

โ€œThis development forms part of the clubโ€™s broader strategic restructuring of the football department, aimed at streamlining operations and reinforcing a high-performance environment aligned with AmaZulu FCโ€™s long-term ambitions.

โ€œMr Dias joined the club in October 2023 and was entrusted with overseeing all football-related activities. As part of the clubโ€™s renewed technical direction, it has been resolved to discontinue the director of football role in favour of a more integrated football management structure.

โ€œMr Dladla, who joined Usuthu at the beginning of the current season, has made a positive contribution within the Arthur Zwane-led technical team. Prior to his tenure at AmaZulu, he guided Durban City to the ABC Motsepe Championship title and secured promotion to the Betway Premiership.”

WHAT THE AMAZULU PRESIDENT SAID ABOUT THE EXIT OF DLADLA AND DIAS

โ€œAmaZulu FC president, Mr Sandile Zungu, extended his sincere appreciation to both Mr Dias and Mr Dladla for their professionalism, dedication, and meaningful contributions during their time at the club,” said Zungu.

โ€œTheir service has been valued, and they leave with the Clubโ€™s full respect and gratitude. The club wishes both Mr Dias and Mr Dladla every success in their future professional endeavours.โ€ We are confident that they will continue to display the utmost professionalism until the conclusion of their contracts at the end of the season.”
