The SA Football Association [SAFA] has confirmed that disciplinary processes are being initiated against its four suspended NEC members.

The four members, who are perceived as foes of SAFA president Danny Jordaan, are alleged to have disrupted an NEC meeting, which was subsequently abandoned earlier this month.

Visuals circulating across social media platforms showed NEC members exchanging heated words before pushing, shoving, and eventually throwing punches. This is after they were against a proposed motion to suspend several NEC members, put forward during the first SAFA NEC meeting of the year.

SAFA says the four members were suspended with immediate effect following a resolution taken by the Emergency Committee on 13 March 2026.

โ€œThis decision was subsequently ratified by the NEC on 21 March 2026 through a round-robin process,โ€ said SAFA in a statement.

โ€œThe following NEC members have been formally issued with notices of suspension pending the outcome of disciplinary hearings: Gladwyn White, Monde Montshiwa, Orapeleng Setlhare and Emma Hendrick.

SAFA CONFIRM SUSPENDED MEMBERS WILL LOSE THEIR MEMBERSHIP RIGHTS

โ€œDuring their suspension, the individuals will lose all membership rights and are prohibited from engaging in any SAFA-related activities, including contact with other members, accessing SAFA premises and systems, or performing official duties.

โ€œThe Association confirms that the necessary disciplinary processes will be initiated and conducted without unnecessary delay, in line with SAFAโ€™s governance frameworks and commitment to transparency and accountability,โ€ they said.

โ€œSAFA remains steadfast in ensuring that all matters of governance are handled with integrity, while safeguarding the interests of South African football at all levels.

โ€œBeyond governance matters, the Association continues to prioritise football development. Several junior and senior national teams are currently in camp as part of ongoing football development and preparation programmes for participation in international tournaments.โ€

Meanwhile, Bafana Bafana will take on Panama in the second of their international friendly matches at Cape Town Stadium on Tuesday, 31 March as part of of their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
