Orbit College backs Pogiso Makhoye to turn fortunes around

General Manager at Orbit College FC, Matome Kganakga, has backed coach Pogiso Makhoye and his technical team to save the club from relegation.

Orbit, one of the newcomers in the Betway Premiership, are having a tough debut season.

They are currently second-from-bottom after collecting 18 points from 22 matches. They are four points above the bottom-placed Magesi FC, who also have a game in hand.

Unlike the other teams in the bottom four, Orbit are the only team that has shown trust in their coaching team from the beginning of the season. Chippa United, Magesi and Marumo Gallants have all changed coaches following some poor results.

But Orbit has stuck with the highly qualified coach who has been at the helm since their days in the SAFA amateur leagues.

WHY RELEGATION-THREATENED SIDE ORBIT COLLEGE HAVE SHOWN CONFIDENCE IN THEIR COACH

With only eight matches to go, Kganakga says the club is highly confident of the current technical team and their capabilities. He says the club will be more than comfortable even if they finish in position 14.

“The coaches are doing everything possible to save the club,” Kganakga told FARPost.

“We are confident, looking at the work that they are putting into training and the commitment from the players. Even if we finish number 14, we will be happy so that we can start properly next season. But the confidence that we have as a club in the league is there.”

SOME DIFFICULT ENCOUNTERS FOR ORBIT COLLEGE FC IN THE NEXT FEW WEEKS

Orbitโ€™s next league encounter will be against Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs on Monday, 6 April at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha.

They also still have to face fellow relegation candidates Magesi FC and Marumo Gallants, and will wrap up the season with a clash against Orlando Pirates.
