Black Leopards co-coach Sundra Govinder remains confident that the club will still get out of relegation danger with eight matches remaining.
Leopards played to a 0-0 draw against Upington City FC in a Motsepe Foundation Champions clash at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Wednesday.
The result leaves Lidoda Duvha on 18 points, tied with Baroka FC, who are now bottom of the log. Both the former Betway Premiership clubs are now fighting for their lives with only a few games to go in the second-tier league.
Since the former Kaizer Chiefs youth development coach took over alongside Duncan Lechesa, they have been in charge of five matches. They have won one, drawn three and lost one.
BLACK LEOPARDS COACH CONFIDENT OF SURVIVAL
But Govinder says he is pleased that they have not been conceding goals in the past few games.
“No, we’re not worried. The biggest problem with Leopards in the past was that the team was losing,” he said.

WHAT THE STRUGGLING MOTSEPE FOUNDATION CHAMPIONSHIP SIDE NEEDS TO DO
“The only way you win games is that you don’t concede goals. So for us, yes, a draw is not what we wanted, but we take it. Obviously, we have to work on the finishing, and as I said, if you don’t concede, you can’t lose.
“The club will always come first. Obviously, this is a project. We want to win all the games. That’s what it means, and it means that we need to win all the games and to be realistic, we can or maybe not. But believe me, winning the eight games will make a huge difference to us. But I can promise you that after two draws, there is a win coming.”
Leopards are set to travel to the Mother City on Tuesday, 7 April, for a clash with Cape Town City FC, who are fighting for promotion back to the Betway Premiership.
