Zimbabwean striker Junior Zindoga was signed by TS Galaxy while injured, and he has explained how the show of trust by club chairman Tim Sukazi has helped him rise above his challenges.

The 27-year-old joined The Rockets at the start of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season. TS Galaxy is his third club in South Africa, having previously played for Marumo Gallants and Maritzburg United.

Last season, he was at Gallants, and his transition to Galaxy was almost halted by an injury. However, TS Galaxy took a massive gamble, signing the Zimbabwean forward who went on to spend two months on the treatment bed. Zindoga didn’t disclose the nature of his injury. But the Sukazi-led club’s vote of confidence has clearly touched Zindoga’s heart.

Zindoga, who has so far scored three goals for TS Galaxy in all competitions – two in the Betway Premiership and one in the Nedbank Cup- told FARPost how TS Galaxy turned his injury into a sweet ordeal.

“I really appreciate the trust that I have from the chairman [Tim Sukazi], who signed me while I was injured. And then coach Adnan Beganovic and the whole medical team, because they signed me while I was injured and they knew I couldn’t play for a few months,” Zindoga told FARPost.

“The rehab that they did with me and the patience as well. So I always had meetings with the coaches before I started playing, and they just told me to be patient, trust them, and that they would manage me. And that if I wanted to improve, I just had to accept what they wanted to do with me as well.”

Zindoga is on cloud nine, eyeing his first South African silverware as Galaxy are set to take on Durban City FC in the Nedbank Cup final on 2 May.

“A lot has happened for me at TS Galaxy. Now we’re in the final, and I started becoming a national team player from playing here. So it’s just the way we train and everything. I’ve improved a lot playing for these coaches,” Zindoga added.

“I think a chance to win my first piece of silverware is obviously something big for me personally. And then, on a personal note, playing against Emmanuel Jalai [Durban City], we were in the same academy [Aces Youth Soccer Academy] together. He’s someone I’ve known for more than 10 years.”
