Kaizer Chiefs legend Brian Baloyi has identified the one factor behind the Soweto giants’ turnaround in form, which has led to five consecutive Betway Premiership victories.
After a period that saw the club suffer three successive league defeats—sparking a strike from frustrated supporters—Amakhosi have completely turned the tables.
The Glamour Boys are currently on a five-match winning streak, a run that has significantly boosted their chances of securing CAF inter-club competition qualification for next season.
As it stands, Chiefs occupy third place on the log, having amassed 45 points from 23 matches.
WHAT’S THE ONE ELEMENT THAT HAS WORKED IN KAIZER CHIEFS’ FAVOUR?
The former Bafana Bafana shot-stopper, Baloyi, explained that the stability in the starting eleven has been the key element for the club’s recent fruitful results.

“The one thing, or the positive aspect, that makes good teams successful in winning and challenges for silverware is their consistency,” Baloyi told the SoccerBeat podcast.
“In the last three or four games, the starting line-up has been consistent, with only one or two understandable changes made. But that is what you need; it provides stability in the defence and the team.”
‘Spiderman’, as he is well known within the football circles, further noted that the technical team’s decision to stick with an unchanged line-up in their previous matches has allowed for better chemistry on the pitch, which is now reflecting in the team’s offensive output.
“Players start to know each other, and they begin to click, which is evident in the results when the goals start coming in,” he added.
“For example, if you look at Mduduzi Shabalala’s goal in the last game against Magesi FC, there was a bit of combination play, which can only be achieved if the players are getting to know each other. So, that is what Chiefs needed.”
With seven games remaining in the 2025/26 campaign, Amakhosi will look to maintain this momentum as they fight to finish in the top three and return to the continental stage.
