Botswana international Benson Kitso Mangolo has had his contract terminated for the second time this season, with Mochudi Centre Chiefs confirming they have parted ways with the midfielder over disciplinary issues.
Mangolo, who was released by Richards Bay FC during the January transfer window, lasted less than three months at the Kgatleng-based outfit before his deal was ended with immediate effect.
While his exit from Richards Bay was handled quietly, Centre Chiefs were explicit in outlining the reasons behind their decision, citing repeated breaches of club rules and contractual obligations.
WHAT CHIEFS SAID ABOUT MANGOLO’S EXIT

In an official statement on Tuesday, the club revealed that previous disciplinary measures had failed to correct the player’s conduct.
“The decision follows repeated breaches of contractual obligations and the club’s internal regulations. Despite prior disciplinary action, Kitso Mangolo failed to meet the standards of discipline, professionalism and commitment expected at the club.”
Management added that the working relationship had deteriorated beyond repair. “The employment relationship has irretrievably broken down, leaving no alternative but termination.”
Mangolo’s latest departure adds another turbulent chapter to a stop-start campaign. His exit from Richards Bay earlier this year was understood to be a mutual separation, following disagreements over a proposed loan move to Motsepe Foundation Championship side Midlands Wanderers.
The midfielder had joined the KwaZulu-Natal club on a one-year deal but struggled for minutes, making just two appearances — both against Chippa United. He featured in a 1-0 league win in August and a 4-1 Carling Knockout Cup last-16 victory in October.
In search of regular game time, Mangolo returned to Botswana on a short-term six-month deal with Centre Chiefs in an attempt to revive his career. However, that move has now ended prematurely, raising further questions about his professional trajectory.
Centre Chiefs, currently third in the Botswana Premier League, stressed that the decision underscores their commitment to discipline and accountability.
“The club remains committed to maintaining high standards and will not compromise on discipline and integrity.”
