Mamelodi Sundowns have provided a positive injury update on talented attackers Nuno Santos and Peter Shalulile after the duo missed recent action, while also confirming a fresh blow.
Santos and Shalulile were absent when the Brazilians played to a disappointing 1-1 stalemate against Stellenbosch FC in the Betway Premiership at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Wednesday night.
Masandawana failed to collect three points against Stellies to move to the summit of the league table and overtake Orlando Pirates. The Sea Robbers retained their position at the top of the log with 58 points having played 25 games, while Sundowns are sitting second on the log with 57 points in 24 matches.
Before playing to a draw against the Winelands-based side, Sundowns qualified for the CAF Champions League final after beating Esperance de Tunis this past weekend.
The Tshwane giants edged Esperance 1-0 home and away in the two-legged semi-final tie with decisive goals from Brayan Leon. Downs booked a spot in the Champions League final, and they are on course to win both the league and the continental showpiece.
With Sundowns chasing two prestigious competitions, they have been without the services of Nuno Santos and Peter Shalulile due to injuries.
WHAT SUNDOWNS TEAM DOCTOR SAID ABOUT SHALULILE AND SANTOS’ INJURIES

The clubโs medical department, headed by Dr Carl Kgabo Tabane, confirmed that Shalulile and Santos are back to full training, itching closer to returning to the matchday squad. Meanwhile, the doctor also revealed a fresh blow with the Bathusi Aubaas injury setback
In the current campaign, the Namibian talisman, Shalulile, has scored six goals with one assist in 20 appearances, while Santos, who joined the club in July 2025, featured in 25 matches across all competitions, netting six goals and providing eight assists.
โI think in the last update, I had a few players in the ward, but the number is coming down. Weโve got Nuno Santos, whoโs out of the ward, and heโs training fully. We have Peter Shalulile, who is also training fully,โ said Tabane.
โBut unfortunately, when some are going out, some are coming in. We have Bathusi Aubaas, who suffered an injury just after the Esperance match. Weโre still going to do some investigation to get the extent of the injury, then weโll give an update.โ
