Kruger United head coach Abram Mongoya has detailed why the club, which has only been in existence for three years, has remained consistent and moved to within two points of a historic promotion.
Kruger has had a remarkable season in just their second year since their promotion from the SAFA ABC Motsepe League in 2024.
Originally from Thulamahashe in Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga, Kruger were promoted to the professional ranks only 10 months after their formation. They missed out on the PSL promotional/Relegation Playoffs by three points in their first season.
However, the club has now shown consistency this season in the Motsepe Foundation Championship and has not only won the most games [16] but has also scored the most goals [44].
KRUGER UNITED ON THE VERGE OF A HISTORIC PROMOTION AFTER THREE YEARS OF EXISTENCE
A win against Black Leopards on Saturday, 3 May or two draws in their remaining three matches will seal promotion to the Betway Premiership for a club that has only been in existence for less than three years.

Mongoya has given credit to his players and his support staff for what he says have been abnormal hours put in. “The technical staff that I am privileged to have this season, I think I have one of the best technical staff,” he told journalists.
“From the office, the management wanted even more this season. We have put in a lot of hours, and the players have also put in a good shift.
“I think what has also made the difference is that we are united and one team, and the desire is more. No one is complaining about the hours that we put in because they know it’s going to be worth it,” he added.
“At some point, the technical team was coming to training tired because of the hours that we put in. But I would like to give them credit to say this one is for the hours that we always put in.”
