TS Galaxy star Junior Zindoga has shouldered the responsibility of the club’s dismal run in the Betway Premiership that resulted in the sacking of head coach Adnan Beganovic.
Galaxy pulled the trigger on Beganovic last week following a string of underwhelming results, which saw the club hovering in the bottom half of the league table for the most part of the season.
Beganovic was shown the exit door with only four matches left before the end of the season in the league. After 26 matches, the Rockets are 12th on the log with 26 points, having won seven, drawn five, and lost 14.
The Bosnian coach served as the head coach of Galaxy from November 2024 after taking over the reins from Sead Ramovic, who resigned from his position at the time. Before bagging the sole head coach position at the Mpumalanga-based side, Beganovic was the assistant coach under Ramovic.
In recent outings, Galaxy went 11 Premiership matches without a victory under Beganovic, suffering nine defeats and recording two draws. As a result, the club relieved the 43-year-old mentor of his duties and appointed Bernard Parker as interim coach for the remainder of the campaign.
WHAT JUNIOR ZINDOGA SAID ABOUT BEGANOVIC’S DEPARTURE

Despite the inconsistent run in the league, Beganovic took Galaxy to the final of the Nedbank Cup, where they’ll face Durban City FC at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday, 02 May.
Speaking ahead of the final during Galaxy’s media open day at their training grounds in Southdale, Johannesburg, on Tuesday, Junior Zindoga admitted that the players are taking responsibility for Beganovic’s sacking, stating that they let the coach down.”
“I think it’s part of football [the coach’s exit], it’s unfortunate, and as the 11 players on the pitch, those on the bench and in the stands, we take responsibility. It’s our fault, we did let the gaffer down,” Zindoga said.
“We tried to execute his plans as much as possible, but as footballers, we have to always be professional. We wish him well. But right now we have to focus on our remaining games. We just have to be responsible as professional athletes.”
