Mamelodi Sundowns defender Khuliso Mudau has conceded that it is ‘unlike’ the reigning Betway Premiership champions to drop points in successive matches following their recent back-to-back draws.
Mamelodi Sundowns are set to travel to Limpopo this Wednesday for a high-stakes encounter against Polokwane City FC at the Seshego Stadium. The reigning champions enter this fixture looking to rediscover their winning touch after being frustrated by two draws in a row in their last two league games.
This slight dip in form follows a 1-1 stalemate against Stellenbosch FC, which was compounded over the weekend when they were held to a goalless draw by a resilient Richards Bay FC side.
Despite these recent results, Masandawana remain firmly in the title hunt, currently occupying second position on the Betway Premiership log with 58 points. They trail log leaders Orlando Pirates by a single point; however, the Brazilians notably hold a crucial game in hand and still have five matches left to play before the conclusion of the season.
Speaking ahead of tonight’s match against Polokwane City at 19:30 CAT, Mudau acknowledged that the clash will not be easy. He further conceded that dropping four points in their last two league matches is unlike them.
KHULISO MUDAU SAYS PLAYERS ARE NOT PUTTING THEMSELVES UNDER PRESSURE

“Obviously, we are taking one game at a time,” he told the club’s media department.
“We are not putting ourselves under pressure because it’s very important that in a situation like this to come down and focus more on ourselves and not on other things that are happening.
“With Polokwane City, I think it’s going to be a difficult game, to be honest. But I believe everyone is ready for the game. Yeah, it’s going to be a tough one, but we have to go there and make sure that we make ourselves happy, our supporters and families back home.”
The Bafana Bafana international added: “It’s very important because we played two draws in a row. It’s unlike us.
There are no reservations at Sundowns; our goal is to win every match. Obviously, facing Polokwane City twice in quick succession—home and away—presents its own set of challenges. While they have the home advantage in the first leg, they still have to come to Loftus Versfeld as well. It won’t be easy for them, as we intend to make both fixtures extremely difficult.
