Former SA Junior international Tercious Malepe has opened up about his move to Motsepe Foundation Championship log leaders Kruger United FC after struggling to find a club locally in the Betway Premiership.
Malepe recently returned from a short stint at Maltese side Balzan FC. This is after he had parted ways with Betway Premiership side Richards Bay FC at the end of the 2024/25 season.
He spent some time in the wilderness before his move to Malta. However, after experiencing work permit issues, the 29-year-old was forced to return home.
He is now part of the Kruger United side that is just two points away from a historic promotion to the Betway Premiership.
TERCIUOS MALEPE EXPLAINS WHY HE JOINED KRUGER UNITED
“Of course, I had just come back from Malta in Europe, and when I had to do my work permits, it was delayed. So that’s why I didn’t go back. So Kruger United called me, and we discussed the terms,” Malepe explained to FARPost.
“I joined three months after we started negotiations because there were also other options. Finally, I went to check the squad, and I saw the quality and the stability that they had.”

WHY IT WAS IMPORTANT FOR EX SA JUNIOR INTERNATIONAL TO WAIT FOR THE RIGHT MOVE
With Kruger on the verge of gaining promotion to the elite league, Malepe has also opened up on the importance of waiting for the right move.
“It’s very important. I have been in this situation before. So for me, it’s something that I am happy about. Sometimes things don’t go according to plan, and you have to wait,” he added.
“While you wait, you have to keep fit because the body gains weight and losing weight is not easy. You just need to remain professional even without a job because we love this game. But fortunately, I am mentally fit and am glad that I am doing what I love at Kruger.”
