Manqoba Mngqithi has thrown his weight behind a rising AmaZulu FC star for a spot in the national team, as Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos prepares to name his preliminary squad before finalising his roster for the 2026 World Cup.

The Former Mamelodi Sundowns mentor, Mngqithi, has endorsed AmaZulu right-back Nkosikhona Radebe to earn a nod from Broos.

Radebe has been one of the standout performers for AmaZulu in the 2025/26 season, producing impressive displays as Usuthu are fighting for a top-three finish in the Betway Premiership.

The promising defender has been a regular starter for AmaZulu under the guidance of Arthur Zwane, who has built his team around young players. Radebe has featured in 31 appearances across all competitions for the KZN-based outfit, scoring one goal and chipping in with four assists.

Radebe has established himself as one of the best right-wing-backs in the PSL with an impressive energy to contribute both in defence and attack.

The 25-year-old has been with AmaZulu for over one season after signing with the club on a free transfer in January 2025 following his exit from TS Galaxy.

Following his consistent growth at AmaZulu this season, Radebe has earned glowing plaudits from Mngqithi, who suggested the blistering defender should be a shoo-in for the national team setup.

โ€œAt AmaZulu, there’s this boy called Radebe at right-back who, in my opinion, should be a cover in the national team,โ€ said Mngqithi, while discussing the renaissance of football in KwaZulu-Natal.

โ€œHe has done very well. I think he’s got a few assists and a goal to his name; that’s very big for a right-back. So, for me, those suggest that there are a lot of positive things happening in KZN.
