Prosport International agent Mike Makaab has shed light on Kobamelo Kodisang’s future at Mamelodi Sundowns as his loan deal at Stellenbosch FC expires next month.

Kodisang signed a six-month loan agreement with Stellies during the January transfer window from AVS Futebol Sad. The talented winger was on loan at the Portuguese top-flight side for the 2025/26 season. However, his deal was cut short at the end of last year.

The former Platinum Stars attacker returned to the Betway Premiership to join Stellenbosch under familiar coach Gavin Hunt. Kodisang played under the experienced mentor at Bidvest Wits before venturing into a new career path overseas.

Since arriving at Stellenbosch, Kodisang has struggled for regular playing minutes under Hunt, who, in the past few months, stated that the versatile player arrived at the club not in good physical condition.

The 26-year-old has featured in only five appearances across all competitions for the Winelands-based side, and he’s yet to open his scoring account for the club.

Meanwhile, Kodisang is still under contract with Masandawana after initially joining in July 2024 from Moreirense FC in Portugal. The Bafana Bafana international had a challenging start to life at Sundowns after featuring in 13 games, scoring two goals and providing two assists.

After one season, Kodisang found himself on the fringes, and Sundowns decided to send him out on loan to AVS Futebol to search for regular playing minutes before eventually returning home to join Stellenbosch.

With the current season coming to an end this month, Kodisang’s agent, Mike Makaab, has revealed that his client will be returning to his parent club, Sundowns. “I think we all know that Kobamelo Kodisang is on loan at Stellenbosch FC,” Makaab told FARPost.

“Things haven’t quite gone well at Stellenbosch, and we would have hoped that he would get more game-time because that’s what a loan move is for. But he’s still contracted with Mamelodi Sundowns, and he will go back to the club when the loan expires.”
