With the curtains falling on the 2025/26 Betway Premiership campaign this weekend, goalkeeper Ricardo Goss has addressed his future at parent club Mamelodi Sundowns.
Goss is currently on loan at Siwelele FC from Sundowns, having moved in search of regular game time after facing stiff competition at the Tshwane giants.
The highly-rated goalie has been sent out on loan for four successive seasons as he is seemingly not in the immediate plans of Sundowns, who have four other shot-stoppers on their books.
Masandawana lean on Bafana Bafana international Ronwen Williams as their first-choice goalie, while Denis Onyango, Reyaad Pieterse, and Jody February provide heavy backup for the number one spot. Ismail Watenga, also on loan at Motsepe Foundation Championship side AmaTuks, is set to return to his parent club, Sundowns.
For Goss, breaking into the Sundowns line-up has proven a massive hurdle, a reality that saw him spend the previous three seasons on loan at the now-defunct SuperSport United.
After SuperSport sold their top-flight status to Siwelele, Goss crossed over to the Bloemfontein-based side, marking his fourth successive loan spell away from Chloorkop.
WHAT RICARDO GOSS SAID ABOUT HIS FUTURE

The former Golden Arrows goalminder joined Downs in September 2020 from Bidvest Wits as one of the most sought-after goalkeepers in the PSL, although he is yet to make his mark with the Betway Premiership defending champions.
Goss has proven his qualities between the sticks away from Sundowns, and he has been a regular in the Bafana squad under Hugo Broos, though he has been forced to play second fiddle to Williams.
In the current campaign, the 32-year-old has made 29 appearances across all competitions and kept 14 clean sheets. With his loan move set to expire next month, Goss has revealed that he would love to stay with Siwelele rather than return to Sundowns.
“I think I’d like to come back to Siwelele, they’ve really treated me well here, not to say they didn’t treat me well at Sundowns,” Goss said.
“But I feel like every footballer wants to be on the pitch and you want to be the number one of the team and keep playing week in week out, and set yourself goals for the season. So we’ll see how that [Sundowns future] goes, I can’t comment further on that.”
