Themba Zwane celebrate a goal while on the bench for Mamelodi Sundowns against AS FAR.

Mamelodi Sundowns captain Themba Zwane has reflected on the brotherhood within the camp after what he described as a long journey ahead of the much-anticipated CAF Champions League final tie against AS FAR.

The 2016 champions arrived in Morocco on Wednesday night ahead of the second leg tie in Rabat on Sunday, 24 May.

However, their travel plans were initially delayed on Tuesday after a chartered flight was denied a landing permit by Moroccan authorities.

The players and technical team reportedly spent eight hours inside the flight at OR Tambo International Airport before they returned to their respective homes on Tuesday.

Their flight to Morocco was eventually rescheduled to Wednesday after they successfully secured clearance to travel the following day.

“The trip was long, but I think the mood is super okay. Everyone is so excited,” Zwane was speaking to the club media department.

The 36-year-old also reflected on their first training session on Thursday, stating that they know what to expect from their opponents.

“The session was good. Obviously, we have the time to rest and prepare for the session,” he said.

“I think before the session, obviously, we analysed the opponents, and we know what to expect from them. Today [Thursday] was just those tactics of how we are going to approach the game, but starting slowly after this long journey.”
