Kaizer Chiefs strength and conditioning coach Majdi Safi has also left the club following the departures of co-coaches Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze, FARPost can reveal.
Safi is understood to have informed the club about a month ago that he would not be extending his stay at Naturena once his contract expires.
The Tunisian conditioning coach has already left South Africa and bid farewell to the players and technical team in the dressing room after Chiefs’ final game of the season against Chippa United in the Betway Premiership on Saturday.
His departure marks the end of a stint that began when former Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi arrived at the Soweto giants with his technical team. Safi was part of the backroom staff assembled by Nabi alongside Ben Youssef.
He had signed a two-year deal that expires at the end of June. As reported by FARPost, Chiefs have decided to part ways with
Ben Youssef and Kaze after their contracts expired. The decision followed an internal review of the season by the club’s management and technical leadership, with Amakhosi opting to head in a different direction ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
NEW LOOK TECHNICAL TEAM TO SPEARHEAD 2026/27 CAMPAIGN

Kaze and Ben Youssef helped Chiefs secure their best Betway Premiership finish in six years. Under their guidance, the Glamour Boys climbed to third place after finishing ninth the previous season, restoring optimism around the club after several difficult campaigns.
Ben Youssef arrived in South Africa together with Nabi after signing a two-year contract aligned with the former Chiefs mentor’s deal. Kaze joined in October 2024 to replace Fernando Da Cruz, who departed shortly before the start of the 2024/25 season.
Despite the improvement shown this season, Chiefs are restructuring their technical department ahead of next season as they seek to close the gap on rivals Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.
Pirates ended a 14-year wait for the league title by winning the 2025/26 Betway Premiership and completing a domestic treble, while Sundowns lifted the CAF Champions League for the second time in their history.
Chiefs will return to continental football next season after qualifying for the CAF Confederation Cup, with a new-look technical team expected to take charge ahead of the new campaign.
