Mamelodi Sundowns’ talismanic captain Themba Zwane is set to continue his legendary journey at Chloorkop after extending his stay with the reigning CAF Champions League winners for another season.

The news was confirmed by the two-time CAF Champions League winners on Friday, 29 May 2026.

Zwane, affectionately known as ‘Mshishi’, has been the heartbeat of Chloorkop for over a decade. His contract extension ensures that Masandawana retain their most experienced leader ahead of the new campaign.

Zwane’s journey with Sundowns is nothing short of legendary. Since joining the Tshwane giants, he has won every club trophy available on the domestic scene, including Nedbank Cup [3], Telkom Knockout [2], and MTN8 [1].

On the continental stage, Zwane has been instrumental in Sundowns’ status as a powerhouse, helping the club secure two CAF Champions League titles, the CAF Super Cup, and the inaugural African Football League [AFL] crown.
