Karim Kimvuidi has waved goodbye to Israeli club FC Ashdod following the conclusion of his loan deal, as his future at Orlando Pirates is set to be decided.
The Congolese international spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Ashdod in search of regular game-time after struggling for minutes under the then-head coach, Jose Riveiro.
Kimvuidi faced stiff competition in the attacking midfield position at the Soweto giants, and the club granted him the opportunity to seek game time elsewhere.
The skilful midfielder signed with the Sea Robbers in July 2023 from Maritzburg United, who were relegated at that time before rebranding to Durban City FC.
In his time with Pirates, Kimvuidi was mostly used as a second-half substitute, appearing in 37 matches across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing one assist.
After going out on loan last season, Kimvuidi had a decent showing at Ashdod after scoring four goals and chipping in with two assists in 25 matches in all competitions.

Having proven his qualities in Israel, Kimvuidi has announced that he’s leaving Ashdod despite the club having an option to make the deal permanent.
The 26-year-old confirmed his departure via an Instagram post, thanking the club for affording him an opportunity to showcase his talent.
“I wanted to thank everyone in the team for giving me this opportunity to be part of this great family; the people who trusted me, the coaching staff, the players and the fans,” Kimvuidi said.
“Now the story ends here, but it was an unforgettable moment being with you in the locker room and especially off the pitch. I will forever be grateful, I wish you all the best for the future. Thank you again.”
