The race to sign Golden Arrows’ teenage midfielder Isaac Cisse is heating up, with Belgian club Royal Charleroi Sporting Club now among the clubs actively pursuing his signature.
Charleroi have joined a growing list of clubs monitoring and moving for the 19-year-old, having recently sent scouts to South Africa to assess the Ivorian midfielder in action.
The Belgian side, which is looking to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season, is understood to have submitted an offer to Golden Arrows after being satisfied with what they saw. They finished 11th in the just-ended season and are eager to bolster their squad.
Cisse has enjoyed a rapid rise under Manqoba Mngqithi, becoming a key figure in his debut season despite initial expectations that he would require time to adapt to South African football.
The talented defensive midfielder registered 26 appearances across all competitions and scored five goals, an impressive return that has significantly boosted his reputation as one of the league’s standout young talents.
His performances have not gone unnoticed locally either, with Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates among the clubs keeping close tabs on his progress ahead of potential transfers. Egyptian giants Al Ahly are also reportedly tracking the Ivorian.
ISAAC CISSE EYEING EUROPE MOVE

However, indications remain that Cisse’s long-term ambition is a move to Europe. Charleroi’s involvement is therefore seen as a major step in that direction.
The Ivory Coast Under-20 captain has impressed with his maturity, physical presence, and tactical discipline, qualities that have allowed him to adapt quickly to senior football in South Africa and stand out despite his age.
Charleroi have built a strong reputation as a club willing to allow players to progress to bigger European leagues, with recent transfer windows again reflecting that model. The Belgian side has seen several key departures as part of this ongoing cycle, including midfield anchors Adem Zorgane and Daan Heymans, as well as striker Nikola Štulić, all of whom earned moves to higher-profile European leagues.
Defender Jérémy Petris also completed a switch to Watford, while Vetle Dragsnes, Stelios Andreou, and Youssuf Sylla were among other exits through transfers or free moves.
With the transfer window approaching, Cisse’s future is expected to remain a key talking point, particularly as Charleroi officially join the race alongside other interested clubs.
