Siwelele FC have moved swiftly to secure the services of Grant Margeman for the upcoming season by triggering an extension option in his contract, following the conclusion of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership campaign.

The Bloemfontein-based side moved swiftly to secure the talented midfielder’s future and prevent all the possibilities of losing him for free. Margeman’s initial contract was supposed to come to an end on the 30th of June 2026, before Siwelele took decisive action to extend it to another season.

The Bafana Bafana international has made a resurgent return to action and played regularly under Lehlohonolo Seema after suffering a long-term injury in the 2024/25 season.

Margeman has featured in 21 appearances across all competitions and scored one goal as he proved to be a reliable figure in the deep-lying midfield position.

The 27-year-old initially signed a permanent contract with SuperSport United in 2023 from Mamelodi Sundowns, and the deal carried over to Siwelele when they purchased the top-flight status of Matsatsantsa in July 2025.

Meanwhile, Margeman has reportedly been on the radar of several PSL sides; however, any interested suitors would need to pay a transfer fee to Siwelele to sign the Cape Town-born midfielder.

With the transfer window set to open in the coming days, Siwelele have begun their activities. Grant Margeman’s agent, Ntobatsi Masegela, has confirmed that the Siwelele has secured his client for another year.

“I think first and foremost, we have to thank Siwelele for their professionalism and how they handled Grant Margeman’s contract,” Ntobatsi told FARPost.

“So this shows that the club values Margeman and sees him as a player who can further contribute to the club’s objectives next season.

The intermediary further revealed that any club that would be interested in signing the former SA’s youth international would have to engage Siwelele.

“Obviously, if there is any club that is interested in the services of Grant, those conversations have to happen between club to club, but for now he remains committed to Siwelele.”
