Prosport International football agent Mike Makaab has opened up on Olisa Ndah’s abrupt exit from Stellenbosch FC, just months after the Nigerian defender joined the Winelands side from Orlando Pirates during the January transfer window.
The Nigerian international headlined a massive 13-player clearance at Stellenbosch FC last month, with the Winelands side embarking on a significant squad overhaul ahead of the 2026/27 Betway Premiership season.
Ndah’s sudden departure from Stellies comes as a major surprise, given that the defender only arrived at the club during the January 2026 transfer window. He exits the club alongside a host of permanent departures, including Wayde Jooste, Oscarine Masuluke, Kazie Enyinnaya, Khomotjo Lekoloane, and Dejean Ah Shene.
Veteran goalkeeper Lee Langeveldt also departs the playing squad after announcing his retirement to transition into a backroom role within the club’s technical structures.
In addition to the permanent exits, Stellenbosch will also part ways with loan trio Tshegofatso Mabasa, Kobamelo Kodisang, and Asekho Tiwani, who are all set to return to their parent clubs upon the expiration of their short-term deals.
Meanwhile, Kyle Jurgens has finalised a permanent switch to Durban City FC, turning his successful 2025/26 loan spell into a long-term stay with the coastal outfit.
MIKE MAKAAB SPEAKS OUT ON NDAH’S EXIT AT STELLENBOSCH

The highly-rated defender signed with Stellenbosch on a free transfer after parting ways with Pirates. Before leaving the Buccaneers, Ndah spent five seasons with the Soweto giants, having arrived at the club in August 2021.
After venturing into a new career path with Stellenbosch, Ndah only lasted six months at the Gavin Hunt-led side, making seven appearances across all competitions.
“We are incredibly grateful to Stellenbosch and Gavin Hunt for giving us the opportunity. Don’t forget that Olisa hadn’t played for a long period of time, and they put their trust in him,” Makaab told FARPost.
“I just think, and this is just my opinion, maybe the type of central defender that Olisa is may not have suited the type of football that Gavin wants to play, and we have to respect that. So I think it was just a football decision and we have to respect that.”
