The 2025/26 SAFA ABC Motsepe League National Playoffs draw for the semi-finals was conducted on Thursday afternoon after the last round of group stage matches at the Mthatha Stadium in the Eastern Cape.

With promotion to the professional ranks of the Motsepe Foundation Championship on the line, only four teams remain in the hunt for the two coveted spots.

North West University [NWU] booked their spot in the last four in dramatic fashion. The North West provincial champions topped Group A with four points after edging Gauteng’s La Masia in a thrilling 3-2 victory in the opening game of Day 3 on Thursday.

In Group B, Western Cape’s Sea Point Swifts [also known as Hope FC] showed immense resilience to secure their passage to the semi-finals. They fought out a 1-1 draw against Free State outfit Mangaung Unite, a result that was just enough to see them collect four points and finish at the summit of their group.

ABC MOTSEPE LEAGUE GROUP C CONCLUSION

Meanwhile, Group C reached a tense conclusion as KwaZulu-Natal’s Mkhambathi FC and Northern Cape’s NC Professionals played out a 0-0 stalemate. The draw left both sides tied on points. But courtesy of their overall records and the tournament’s tie-breaking criteria, both outfits advanced to the semi-final draw.

Football fans across the country will not miss a moment of the action. SAFA has confirmed that the semi-final double-header will be broadcast live on SABC Sport on Saturday, 6 June 2026.
