Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Reneilwe ‘Yeye’ Letsholonyane has revealed the timeline for a decision on his future at Matebele FC in the Botswana Premiership.
Letsholonyane is being targeted by Jwaneng Galaxy and Sua Flamingoes ahead of the 2026/27 FNB Premiership. ‘Yeye’ has been at Matebele FC since September 2025, in what has been his maiden role as a premiership club head coach.
Jwaneng Galaxy, previously coached by SA coach Morena Ramoreboli, are yet to table an offer to him. Sua Flamingoes, however, have moved ahead and already presented what they believe is a competitive offer to attract the former Bafana Bafana star.
Jwaneng Galaxy are seeking a coach capable of replicating Ramoreboli’s success. The club has played second fiddle to 2025/26 FNB Premiership champions Gaborone United, who claimed back-to-back titles.
However, the CAF A-License holder, Letsholonyane, still has a running contract with Matebele FC, having signed a two-year deal upon arrival.
The former Kaizer Chiefs linkman helped Matebele FC turn a corner in the league after a rather slow start, helping them survive relegation and achieve a ninth-place finish in the 16-team league.

However, Letsholonyane is understood to be open to taking a leap of faith and joining a bigger club as interest in him grows.
Letsholonyane told FARPost: “I will only be able to say exactly what is what after I’ve met with my superiors at Matebele FC. That would be mid-June once I return from Mexico.”
Yeye travelled to Mexico as part of a special delegation to attend the opening match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup between Bafana Bafana and Mexico.
It is interesting to see how ‘Yeye’ has swiftly blossomed into a revered coach in Botswana. Additionally, his status as a Chiefs and Bafana Bafana legend has been a major push factor in his rising coaching career.
