Betway Premiership outfit Golden Arrows are closing in on the signing of the exciting Gomora United left-back Tyrese Mncube for the 2026/27 season, FARPost has learnt.
The KZN-based side is already preparing for the upcoming season, making adjustments to their squad as they aim to build a competitive team. Arrows will compete for all the domestic trophies on offer in the PSL next season after finishing in the top eight on the league table.
Abafana Bes’thende will have a chance to clinch silverware as they’ll be competing in the Betway Premiership, MTN8, Nedbank Cup and Carling Knockout Cup.
In the previous season, Arrows had near misses in cup competitions after crashing out in the last eight of the Nedbank Cup, while they lost in the semi-final of the Carling Cup against Marumo Gallants.
Arrows proved to be a difficult team to beat under the guidance of head coach Manqoba Mngqithi. With the former Mamelodi Sundowns mentor at the wheel, the 2009 MTN8 champions have had exciting emerging talent that has caught the attention of big clubs in the Premiership.
GOLDEN ARROWS POISED TO LOSE KEY PLAYERS IN THE UPCOMING TRANSFER WINDOW

Players such as Issac Cisse, Ayanda Jiyane, Siyanda Ndlovu, Ayabulela Maxwele, and Junior Dion have all attracted interest from Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, and Mamelodi Sundowns.
And with Arrows expected to lose a handful of their key players, they have already earmarked Gomora United star Tyrese Mncube, amongst others, to beef up their squad.
The 22-year-old had a stellar season in the Motsepe Foundation Championship in Gomora’s debut campaign in the professional ranks. Mcube was also an outstanding performer when Gomora faced Mamelodi Sundowns in the 2026 Nedbank Cup, where they produced a spirited display before losing 2-1 in the Round of 32.
A source close to FARPost has revealed that the left-back nicknamed ‘Cancelo’ is edging closer to a move to Arrows, and he could play top-flight football come next season.
