Former Sekhukhune United goalkeeper Tokollo Makgolane is free to join any club of his choice after parting ways with Motsepe Foundation Championship side AmaTuks.
The talented goalie spent the 2025/26 season in the Motsepe Foundation with AmaTuks, having joined the Tshwane-based side in July 2025.
Makgolane arrived at the University of Pretoria as a free agent after parting company with his boyhood club, Sekhukhune United, who gave him his debut in the Betway Premiership.
The goal minder came through Sekhukhune’s DStv Diski Challenge side and gained promotion to the senior team in February 2024 after proving to be one of the promising youngsters.
Following his promotion to the first team, Makgolane faced stiff competition in the goalkeeping department from players such as Toaster Nsabata, Renaldo Leaner, and Badra Ali Sangare.

As a result of the tough competition, the 23-year-old made only one appearance for Babina Noko in the first team, which came against Highlands Park in the Nedbank Cup.
Makgolane subsequently left Sekhukhune to join Tuks at the start of the previous campaign under the guidance of the experienced head coach Kwanele Kopo.
The shot stopper signed a one-year deal with AmaTuks with an option to renew for a further year. As his contract is set to expire on the 30th of June 2026,, the Students have decided against taking the option on Makgolane’s contract, and he’s currently free to join any team as a free agent.
With teams looking to beef up their squads for the 2026/27 season, Tokollo Makgolane will be one of the players aiming to earn a top-flight contract to continue his rise in South African football.
