Siwelele FC have turned to the next generation in the transfer market with the signings of highly rated youngsters Rehlohonolofaditswe ‘Pezo’ Thulo and Sheldon Tebogo Mashuge.
The duo’s arrival comes shortly after the departure of promising youngster Bohale Ngwato to Orlando Pirates, highlighting the club’s growing reputation as a platform for emerging talent.
Siwelele confirmed the acquisition of 21-year-old winger Thulo from Mangaung United FC, while also securing the services of 22-year-old Jacksa Spears FC striker Mashuge ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The signings align with the approach championed by head coach Lehlohonolo Seema, who recently emphasised the importance of creating pathways for young players into the first team.
Thulo was one of the standout performers at the recent 2026 ABC Motsepe League National Promotional Playoffs in Mthatha. Despite Mangaung United failing to progress beyond the group stages, the exciting winger attracted widespread attention with a series of eye-catching displays.
Mashuge, meanwhile, earned recognition after spearheading Jacksa Spears FC’s impressive Nedbank Cup run to the last 16.
The striker played a key role in the Northern Cape outfit’s remarkable campaign and now gets an opportunity to test himself at a higher level.
SEEMA: ‘IF YOU’RE GOOD ENOUGH, YOU’RE OLD ENOUGH’
The latest arrivals are a continuation of Siwelele’s approach towards the end of last season, when several players from the club’s DStv Diski Challenge side were promoted into the senior squad.
Among those to make an immediate impact was 19-year-old Siphesihle Jeza, who announced himself with a goal in Siwelele’s memorable 2-0 victory over Kaizer Chiefs.
Seema has repeatedly stated that age is never a factor he considers for players who demonstrate the necessary quality and mentality.
“If you’re good enough, you’re good enough,” Seema said when explaining his approach to youth development. We will prepare you as a young player, and when we think you are ready, we will give you the opportunity.”
