Marshall Munetsi set for yet another move after Paris FC loan spark

Former Orlando Pirates and Baroka FC midfielder Marshall Munetsi is set for another move following an impressive loan spell at Paris FC, it has emerged.

The 29-year-old Zimbabwe Warriors midfielder revived his career at Les Parisiens after struggling for game time at Wolverhampton Wanderers in the English Premier League.

He joined Paris FC in January and made an immediate impact. In 16 appearances during the second half of the 2025/26 season, Munetsi scored four goals and registered two assists.

Simply put, his midfield energy and box-to-box ability helped Paris FC climb out of the relegation zone to a comfortable 11th-place finish in the 18-team Ligue 1.

However, it seems Munetsi’s stay will be cut short. French publication Le Parisien reports that Paris FC leadership had identified retaining Munetsi as a top priority this off-season. According to the publication, club bosses were keen to keep the former Stade de Reims man after his four-month loan yielded four goals and two assists in 15 matches. His loan ends on 30 June.

But talks over a permanent transfer have stalled. Munetsi remains under contract with Wolves until 2028, but the Premier League side’s €15m/R290 million asking price is proving too steep for Paris FC’s budget.

Wolves were relegated to the EFL Championship following a disappointing season that saw Munetsi shipped out to France as he struggled for game time.

FARPost understands the utility midfielder is likely set for another loan stint, with Wolves open to selling him ahead of the 2026/27 EFL Championship season.

Meanwhile, Munetsi recently regained his place in the Zimbabwe national team after missing the 2025 AFCON. He also missed the Mukuru 4 Nations tournament played in Botswana during the March international break.

He was part of the Zimbabwe squad that featured in the invitational Unity Cup, a four-nations tournament played in the United Kingdom last month.
