Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Humphrey Mlwane has shed light on his future at Eswatini side Tabankulu Celtic FC following the conclusion of the 2025/26 season.

Mlwane joined Tabankulu Celtic in February this year on a short-term, four-month contract after cutting ties with SAFA Limpopo ABC Motsepe League club Tzaneen United.

His stint in Limpopo was short-lived, as he took charge of only two matches after joining the team in January 2026. Before his brief spell with Tzaneen United, Mlwane served at Motsepe Foundation Championship outfit The Bees FC, leaving the club by mutual agreement in November last year.

Mlwane was instrumental in The Bees’ success during the 2024/25 season. He guided the club to the Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe League title and led them through the SAFA ABC Motsepe League National Playoffs to secure the club’s professional status.

Under the tutelage of Mlwane, Tabankulu Celtic finished ninth in the Eswatini Premier League, collecting 41 points from 30 games.

HUMPHREY MLWANE UNCERTAIN ABOUT HIS FUTURE AT TABANKULU CELTIC

Speaking to FARPost, Mlwane admitted that his next move remains up in the air as he waits to hear from the Tabankulu Celtic’s hierarchy.

“Well, at the moment, it’s difficult to say anything because I’m not sure what’s going to happen. I only signed for four months, and my contract ended at the end of May,” Mlwane told FARPost.

“So far, we haven’t spoken to the management. I will just wait and see how things unfold. After that, I’ll make a decision if there’s nothing concrete coming up.”

HUMPHREY MLWANE’S VERDICT ON HIS FIRST SEASON AT TABANKULU CELTIC

Reflecting on his brief spell in Eswatini, the South African-born coach expressed satisfaction with how he steered the top-flight newcomers away from the danger zone.

“I think it was a success because we managed to accomplish the mandate. The mandate was to ensure we saved the team from relegation,” he added.

“Remember, the team was new to the top flight, and we had to find a way to get results. I believe it was a success due to the foundation I received from the assistant I found there.”
