Cape Town City FC winger Heaven Sereetsi is attracting increasing interest from clubs across Africa and South Africa, with indications that the 22-year-old is keen to pursue a new challenge.
Information gathered by FARPost suggests that Sereetsi is eager to explore opportunities elsewhere after CT City failed to secure an immediate return to the Betway Premiership through the PSL Promotional/Relegation play-offs.
The talented winger remains under contract with Cape Town City, meaning any move would require the club’s approval. However, interest in the former North-West University [NWU] star continues to gather momentum ahead of the new season.
Betway Premiership side AmaZulu FC have already made their interest in the player known, while Tanzanian heavyweights Simba SC and Young Africans SC are also closely monitoring his situation. Simba’s interest is particularly notable with coach Steve Barker at the helm. The former Stellenbosch FC mentor is understood to be a strong admirer of Sereetsi’s qualities and is reportedly keen to reunite with the promising attacker.
Barker has South African players – Neo Maema and Rushine De Reuck – in his Simba squad, and Sereetsi is believed to fit the profile of the player he wants to build around as the Tanzanian giants target domestic and continental success.
HEAVEN SEREETSI WANTED IN NORTH AFRICA

For the first time in five years, Simba are neck and neck with Yanga, who have won four consecutive league titles. Wekundu wa Msimbazi are just two points behind Yanga, with three games remaining before the curtain falls on the Tanzania Premier League.
They have gone 24 games unbeaten in all competitions, with part of that run coming under Barker. Simba are looking to strengthen their squad as they are likely to feature in the CAF Champions League next season.
There is also reported interest from clubs in North Africa. Sereetsi joined the Mother City side in 2024 after emerging as one of the standout performers in university football. A product of NWU’s Soccer Institute, he earned widespread recognition through his performances in the Varsity Football competition and the North West ABC Motsepe League, where he was named Best Player.
Since arriving in Cape Town, the midfielder has made more than 35 appearances in the Betway Premiership. In addition, he has featured for the club in their two seasons in the second tier. He also played a key role in the club’s late-season resurgence as they fought their way into the promotion/relegation play-offs.
Although CT City ultimately fell short in their bid to retain top-flight status, Sereetsi’s performances did not go unnoticed.
The recent departure of winger Jaedin Rhodes to Austrian Bundesliga side SV Ried has only intensified speculation surrounding Sereetsi’s future. With interest from multiple markets and the player reportedly keen to take the next step in his career, the coming weeks could prove decisive.
