Glyn Binkin, the agent of Teboho Mokoena, says the Bafana Bafana star has attracted interest from abroad, and they will be engaging Mamelodi Sundowns to secure a transfer for the midfield stalwart.
Since arriving at Chloorkop from SuperSport United in January 2022, Mokoena has established himself as a vital cog in the Masandawana midfield. The 29-year-old has also, over the years, turned himself into one of the key Bafana players.
His late penalty against the Czech Republic at the 2026 FIFA World Cup helped South Africa pick up their first point at the tournament following a 1-1 draw. However, the Bethlehem-born star was suspended when Bafana beat South Korea 1-0 on Thursday to secure passage into the World Cup Round of 32.
He had picked yellow cards against Mexico and the Czechs. With Hugo Broos’ side now needing experience in the more challenging Last 32 against Canada on Sunday, Mokoena returns for the task in Los Angeles.
SAUDI INTEREST IN MAMELODI SUNDOWNS STAR TEBOHO MOKOENA

Reports from Saudi Arabia suggest that Mokoena is a wanted man. Al Ettifaq, who are home to former Orlando Pirates midfielder Mohau Nkota, and Al Taawoun are said to have made Mokoena their transfer target.
The midfielder still has three years left on his Sundowns contract. It is to be seen if the Saudi clubs will be able to prize him away from Masandawana.
According to Transfermarkt, Mokoena’s market value is currently R52 million, and it could go up in the next few weeks depending on his overall World Cup performance. Binkin spoke to this publication about the interest in the player.
“As always, around transfer window time, there is interest in Mokoena, but he is fully focused on the World Cup for now,” Binkin told FARPost.
“After the tournament, we will engage with Sundowns and see what’s best for all parties.”
