Motsepe Foundation Championship side Cape Town City FC have confirmed Jaedin Rhodes’ move to Austrian Bundesliga side SV Ried, as first reported by FARPost.
The announcement comes exactly two weeks after this publication reported on the impending European switch for the 23-year-old.
The Austrian side had initially seen their opening bid knocked back by the Citizens. However, they returned to the negotiating table with an improved proposal, which ultimately convinced the CT City’s management to approve the move.
Rhodes has been one of the best performers for the Citizens since graduating from the club’s development structures. In the last campaign, his stellar displays helped the club qualify for the PSL Promotional/Relegation Playoffs. The side finished in second place on the Motsepe Foundation Championship table with 54 points after 30 games.
However, CT City were unable to secure the necessary results to gain promotion back to the Betway Premiership.

At SV Ried, Rhodes is expected to hit the ground running and fill the space left by fellow South African Antonio van Wyk. Van Wyk recently completed his move to reigning CAF Champions League winners Mamelodi Sundowns.
Rhodes will not find himself isolated in his new surroundings, as SV Ried is already home to ex-Kaizer Chiefs skipper Yusuf Maart.
