Scottland FC eye Daniel Msendami as Norman Mapeza hunts for a winger

Daniel Msendami after Orlando Pirates won 2025/26 Betway Premiership title

Scottland FC are monitoring Daniel Msendami’s situation at Orlando Pirates with keen interest, as they plot to lure the winger on loan just as they did with Durban City’s Emmanuel Jalai, FARPost can reveal.

Msendami has been linked with a move away from Orlando Pirates after an underwhelming spell since joining the club during the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season.

The winger was a standout performer under Alexandre Lafitte at Marumo Gallants before he was snapped up by Pirates in the January 2026 transfer window.

However, he was restricted to just eight league appearances as the Soweto giants went on to win the 2025/26 title. His impact fell short of the expectations that came with his arrival.

On Monday, Pirates announced the departure of several notable names to make way for new recruits. Centre-back Thabiso Sesane and midfielder Salaelo Rasebotja have joined Siwelele FC, while right-back Siyabonga Ndlozi and left-winger Gomolemo Khoto are joining Sekhukhune United.

Defensive midfielder Sonwabo Khumalo and centre-back Blessing Ngiba are set for the Motsepe Foundation Championship with Midlands Wanderers, while forward Seth Green has signed for Durban City.

NORMAN MAPEZA ACTIVELY HUNTING FOR A WINGER

Meanwhile, Msendami remains at Pirates, with Scottland FC keen to secure him on loan. FARPost has it on good authority that Scottland FC coach Norman Mapeza is desperately hunting for a winger and Msendami has emerged as a top priority.

Former Orlando Pirates winger Terrence Dzvukamanja has fallen down the pecking order at Scottland, and has been reduced to cameo appearances.

It is on this basis that Mapeza is hoping to get Msendami, more so as Dzvukamanja’s future at the club looks uncertain. Scottland are looking to assemble a formidable squad for their maiden appearance in the next edition of the CAF Champions League.

Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates have been busy in the market, bringing in Gamphani Lungu, Mthetheleli Mthiyane, Sbangani Zulu, Bohlale Ngwato, Neo Rapoo, Matome Mmolai, and Aphiwe Baliti. Baliti will, however, remain at Siwelele FC on a season-long loan.
