Former Chippa United midfielder Baraka Majogoro put on a blinder on his debut for FC Platinum, prompting coach Joel Luphahla to label him the ‘experienced engine needed’.
Majogoro joined the four-time Zimbabwe Castle Lager PSL champions last week from Tanzanian side KMC FC. The 28-year-old was at Chippa United between 2023 and 2025. Additionally, he made 29 appearances in the Betway Premiership.
After leaving the Chilli Boys in July 2025, Majogoro returned to KMC FC in the Tanzanian Premier League before moving to Zimbabwe. FC Platinum moved for the midfielder to add more spark to their central midfield department.
And Majogoro was thrown straight into the fray on Saturday as FC Platinum played out to a 1-1 draw against Highlanders at Mandava Stadium in Zvishavane. Introduced with 20 minutes to go, Majogoro’s deft touches and pinpoint diagonal passes got the fans on their feet, watching a glimpse of what the new signing can bring.
WHAT COACH JOEL LUPHAHLA SAID ABOUT BARAKA MAJOGORO

An honest Joel Luphahla admitted to FARPost that Majogoro’s experience from Chippa United is what FC Platinum have been missing. FC Platinum have now drawn 13 times, won five matches and lost four in the league this season. In addition, they now sit in ninth position in the 18-team league with 28 points from 22 matches.
“We lacked experience. If you look at the squad right now, we only really have David Mangesi with that kind of experience at this level, and that’s exactly why we brought him [Baraka Majogoro] in — to add a bit of leadership and calmness to the group,” Luphahla told FARPost
“I’m sure you saw glimpses of his quality and fluidity. He hasn’t played in a long time, but you could still see that he is a very good player and the experienced engine we needed.
“Even the supporters couldn’t believe what they were seeing — someone with the potential to carry the team and give them enjoyment. We’re hoping that with his leadership qualities and experience, he can help this team and help the younger boys move forward.”
