Aphelele Teto looks set for another loan spell away from Mamelodi Sundowns, with the club exploring opportunities to send the winger to a Betway Premiership club ahead of the 2026/27 season, FARPost has established.
Teto joined Sundowns from Scottish side Livingston FC and spent last season on loan at AmaTuks, where he enjoyed regular game time in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
The 23-year-old has not travelled with Sundowns’ squad for their pre-season training camp in Austria, with another loan move on the cards before the new season gets underway.
There is a belief that the speedy attacker would benefit from regular top-flight football, with several Betway Premiership clubs already expressing interest in signing him.
WHICH TEAMS ARE INTERESTED IN APHELELE TETO?
Kruger United, Sekhukhune United and AmaZulu are all understood to be closely monitoring the situation as they seek to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season.
Information gathered by FARPost suggests that newly promoted Kruger United are currently the most realistic destination. The Mpumalanga outfit has made little secret of their ambition to establish themselves in the Betway Premiership and is eager to add attacking quality as they prepare for life in the top-flight.
AmaZulu have also shown interest in Teto. However, indications are that Usuthu are prioritising permanent acquisitions, particularly among younger players, and would only consider loan deals for positions they regard as urgent ahead of the new campaign. The fact that they are unlikely to secure him permanently at this point almost rules them out.
Babina Noko are also reportedly considering the former TS Galaxy attacker. Meanwhile, a return to AmaTuks cannot be ruled out. The Tshwane-based side have maintained a strong working relationship with Sundowns in recent years, an arrangement that could again work in Teto’s favour should the Premiership options fail to materialise.
