Footballerz Sports Marketing managing director Ntobatsi Masegela has revealed Kaizer Chiefs’ interest in Keletso Makgalwa before the winger put pen to paper at Simba SC.
Makgalwa has grabbed the headlines in the past few weeks after Tanzanian giants Simba and Young Africans SC tussled for his signature ahead of the 2025/26 season. The Sekhukhune United winger was the most-sought-after player in Tanzania following his impressive run with the Limpopo-based side in the past two seasons.
Makgalwa has been with Sekhukhune since July 2024 after signing from the Motsepe Foundation Championship side Upington City FC.
In his two seasons with Sekhukhune United, the highly rated attacker made 66 appearances across all competitions, scored six goals, and provided 20 assists.
His best season at Sekhukhune came in 2024/25, when he was nominated for the Betway Premiership Footballer of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season awards, both of which were ultimately won by former Mamelodi Sundowns star Lucas Ribeiro Costa.
WHAT NTOBATSI MASEGELA SAID ABOUT CHIEFS’ INTEREST IN MAKGALWA

Having proven to be the key for Sekhukhune United, Makgalwa has secured a big transfer move to Simba, which is subject to routine medicals.
Before the Simba deal, the 28-year-old was on the radar of Chiefs, who were looking to sign him for the upcoming season.
Makgalwaโs agent, Ntobatsi Masegela, has revealed that they had talks with the Glamour Boys over a possible transfer. However, the deal did not progress as Chiefs didn’t send an offer.
โKaizer Chiefs did show an interest in Keletso Makgalwa. They reached out about the possibility of doing the transfer deal,โ Masegela told FARPost.
โBut you know these things are more complex than people think; we did send a proposal to Chiefs for Makgalwa, but nothing happened. So hopefully it will still happen in the future.โ
