TS Galaxy head coach Bernard Parker has identified the key factor that will shape how his team will fare in the 2026/27 Betway Premiership season.
Parker’s men put up a spirited performance, coming from behind twice to force a 2-2 draw against Siwelele FC in their first game of the new campaign on Sunday afternoon.
However, they finished the match with 10 men after goalkeeper Sipho Maseti was sent off in a bizarre turn of events for handling the ball outside the area. Despite the red card, Parker praised his side’s fight, stating that their refusal to give up will define their season.

“We have worked very hard on the psychological part to make sure we stay sharp. The strong character we showed today [Saturday] is the same character that we must have in all the games we play,” Parker said on SuperSport TV.
“It’s obviously going to be a tough run, but we have to be strong mentally. A strong character is all we need to be on top. It’s usually not easy to come back twice and walk away with a point against a team with speed like Siwelele FC, but through a strong mentality and character, the boys did it.”
Siwelele and TS Galaxy played out an entertaining 2-2 draw, with both sides walking away with a point each in their 2026/27 PSL opener.
It was end-to-end from the start as both teams looked to get on the front foot early. The breakthrough eventually came in the 29th minute via Siphesihle Jeza.
Galaxy came out with intent in the second half and were handed a lifeline six minutes after the restart. Shadrack Kobedi was adjudged to have handled in the box, and Victor Letsoalo made no mistake from the spot to level things up in the 51st minute.
But Siwelele hit back almost immediately. Vincent Pule restored the lead in the 55th minute, finishing off a lovely ball from Thabiso Sesane. Bernard Parker’s side kept pushing and got their reward in the 71st minute when Veluyeke Zulu rose to head home from Tshepo Kakora’s cross.
