Motsepe Foundation Championship side Real Native FC—formerly known as Casric Stars—are evaluating options in their goalkeeping department, with former Stellenbosch FC shot-stopper Oscarine Masuluke and Tokollo Makgolane emerging as the latest trialists at the Mpumalanga-based outfit.
Information gathered by FARPost confirms that both netminders began training with the club this week as the technical team prepares for the new campaign.
The 33-year-old Masuluke arrives as a free agent following his departure from Betway Premiership outfit Stellenbosch FC at the conclusion of last season, bringing an end to his three-year spell in the Western Cape.
Joining him on trial is Makgolane, who is also unattached after spending the previous campaign with fellow Motsepe Foundation Championship side University of Pretoria. Makgolane also previously featured for Sekhukhune United before departing in search of regular game time.
REAL NATIVE FC SEARCHING FOR WANDILE MTHOMBENI REPLACEMENT
The search for fresh options between the sticks comes as Real Native look to replace key custodian Wandile Mthombeni, who recently completed a transfer to Siwelele FC. Mthombeni raised his profile significantly during the Nedbank Cup Last 16, producing a memorable performance to help Casric Stars eliminate giants Orlando Pirates 5-4 on penalties.
As FARPost previously reported, former Baroka FC goalkeeper Kgaogelo Sithole has already been snapped up after impressing during his trial period. Furthermore, Real Native were recently linked with a move for Kaizer Chiefs starlet Bontle Molefe, with the club confirming to the media that formal discussions took place.
WILL MASULUKE LAND A NEW CONTRACT?
Neither Masuluke nor Makgolane have officially signed contracts yet, as the technical team continues to run the rule over the pair during pre-season training.
Real Native are set to kick off their 2026/27 league campaign with a home fixture against Cape Town City FC at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium on Friday, 21 August. The Mpumalanga side will be looking to build on last season’s fourth-place finish, where they narrowly missed out on automatic promotion and the PSL playoffs.
