Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Siphelo Baloni has resurfaced at Motsepe Foundation Championship side Leicesterford City FC as he looks to revive his career, FARPost has established.
Baloni has been a free agent since parting ways with the Buccaneers at the start of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership following the arrival of head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou.
Baloni spent the previous season without a club, enduring a frustrating spell on the sidelines. The central midfielder struggled to secure a new club after seeing limited game time at Pirates.
The talented anchorman joined the Buccaneers ahead of the 2023/24 season after impressing in the colours of All Stars FC in the second division. Butย Baloni faced tough competition in the Pirates starting line-up while also struggling with injuries, among other things.

During his spell with Pirates, Baloni registered only 14 appearances in all competitions under his name. The 26-year-old was sent out on loan to Chippa United in the 2024/25 season, where he played 19 matches, scoring one goal and chipping in one assist.
Upon his return on loan from Chippa, Pirates decided against retaining Baloniโs services, leaving him without a team for an extended period.
In a new development in Baloniโs career, FARPost has learnt that the midfielder has spotted training with Leicesterford City and is close to putting pen to paper.
Baloni has been training with Leicesterford City as they prepare for the upcoming Motsepe Foundation Championship season. After Leicesterford lost one of their key midfielderโs Matome Mmolai, who joined Pirates in the current transfer window, they are looking for a replacement in the central midfield position, and Baloni could be the man to fill the boots of the former Dondol Stars’ highly-rated youngster.
