South African winger Puso Dithejane has opened up on how former Barcelona FC forward Robert Lewandowski is fueling his impressive form for Chicago Fire FC in the Major League Soccer [MLS].
The former Kaizer Chiefs reserve side star has been featuring alongside the Polish striker in Chicago Fire’s attacking unit.
The 22-year-old has been in good form for Gregg Berhalter’s side, delivering satisfying displays. In the club’s last three matches, Dithejane has found the back of the net three times.
His standout performances have played a pivotal role in Chicago Fire’s impressive form, helping secure six consecutive victories across all competitions.
Speaking after scoring in Chicago Fire’s 2-1 league victory over Orlando City in the early hours of Thursday morning [SA time], Dithejane highlighted the team’s mental focus as one of the positive factors in their winning streak.

“The vibe is good in camp. We have told ourselves that we have a lot of games coming. We have to tell ourselves that we have to win those games, and that’s all in the mind. Our mentality has to be right, and go on to win,” Dithejane told Apple TV.
Reflecting on opening his league scoring account in Chicago Fire colours, the youngster emphasised his commitment to contributing to the team’s success.
“Personally, I have to say that it’s very special. I’m working hard in training. I want to score goals and make the team win,” he added.

Dithejane also revealed the invaluable mentorship he receives from Lewandowski on the training pitch, which has elevated his game.
“Lewandowski has been helping me with finishing and getting into spaces. He is teaching me how to relax in the box. That is how we learn from legends,” declared Dithejane.
