Former Kaizer Chiefs star Knowledge Musona has set his sights on a historic domestic treble with Scottland FC, driven by a fine run of form that has firmly placed him among the frontrunners for the 2026 Zimbabwe Soccer Star of the Year award.
Musona has become one of the key figures at Scottland FC in a league where the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League and the Chibuku Super Cup were previously the only major competitions at stake.
The veteran striker returned to the scoresheet with a brace in a 2-1 win over Simba Bhora last weekend, his first goal in five league games.
This season, the inaugural Munhumutapa Challenge Cup, Zimbabwe’s equivalent of South Africa’s Nedbank Cup, has added another major trophy to the calendar and raised the level of competition. Now in his second season with Scottland, Musona believes his side has the pedigree to challenge for a treble in 2026.
The Harare-based side face MWOS Under-19 in the Munhumutapa Challenge Cup Round of 16 on Saturday [today]. They have also progressed to the Chibuku Super Cup quarter-finals, where their opponents are yet to be confirmed.

They remain top of the PSL standings, with 57 points from 27 games. As such, Musona is eager to help Scottland FC win their first treble and excel in their maiden CAF Champions League appearance.
“It’s always Mabvira-vira [Scottland FC fans], and we want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank them for the incredible support they give us at every single game. They show up, they sing, they push us when we’re tired,” Musona said.
“That support means everything to us as players. And we want to make them a promise: we are going to give our absolute best to win every cup that is coming up.
“Whether it’s the local league, the Chibuku Super Cup, or the Munhumutapa Challenge Cup, our goal is to fight for all of them and win them. We deserve silverware, and the club deserves something to show for all the hard work. We owe it to them to go out there and deliver.”
Meanwhile, Scottland FC are set to face Nsingizini Hotspurs of Eswatini on 6 September in a CAF Champions League preliminary round tie at the National Sports Stadium after CAF granted the facility Category 3 approval.
The match had initially been set for the Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in Francistown, Botswana, pending CAF inspections at the National Sports Stadium. Zimbabwean teams will now enjoy home advantage once again.
