Gomora United have completed the signing of young attacking midfielder Siphesihle ‘Messi’ Mazibuko from Via Sports, coached by former Orlando Pirates star Mpho Makola.
Gomora are continuing to strengthen their squad for the 2026/27 season of the Motsepe Foundation Championship, aiming to push for promotion to the Betway Premiership.
The Giraffes are in their second season in the professional ranks, having gained promotion from the ABC Motsepe League at the start of the 2025/26 campaign.
In their first season in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, Gomora produced inconsistent performances, but they did enough to remain in the PSL for another season.
For the 2026/27 campaign, Gomora United have gone all out to beef up their squad both in playing personnel and the technical team. They have roped in Vincent Rammoni as assistant coach to head coach Patrick Phungwayo.
With the NFD season in matchday two, Gomora has also signed former TS Galaxy DStv Diski Challenge [DDC] star Siphesihle Mazibuko to add creative spark to their attack.

Mazibuko is joining Gomora from Via Sports, who are participating in the SAFA Men’s Regional League in Gauteng. The player joins Gomora after impressing in the amateur league under the guidance of head coach Mpho Makola.
The skilful midfielder has put pen to paper following a few days of training with the team, where he did enough to impress the technical team and the hierarchy.
Meanwhile, Gomora have also signed notable names such as Lebogang Mabotja, Sifiso Timba, Xolani Cossa, Mondli Mpoto and Thabo Mossdi among others.
The club will be hoping the adjustments bring the necessary synergy to compete for automatic promotion to the SA top-flight for the 2027/28 season.
